The Oshkosh Air Show is the world’s greatest avaiation celebration and the largest annual gathering for recreational pilots and aviation enthusiasts on the planet. Also known as EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (formerly the EAA Annual Convention and Fly-In), it’s held each summer in Oshkosh, WI, and features a goosebumpsinspiring combination of aerobatic action, education, entertainment and everything in between. It’s a living museum for the Golden Age of Aircraft, with many examples of antique aircraft maintained and restored into absolute flying condition. Some of the crowd favorites, like the “Tin Goose”, are almost 100 years old. A day at the air show lets visitors experience the sights and sounds of the most significant time in the development of the aircraft industry. In its debut in September 1953, fewer than 150 guests attended the air show and only a handful of planes took part. In 2019, over 642,000 people attended and it featured over 10,000 different aircrafts.”

As the lead photographer I was out shooting concerts and ducking out of the way of the fake blood splattering the crowd. I was spending Sunday brunch at a mid-day drag show. I was following the Redskins through the new training camp in Richmond, checking out all of the hottest restaurants in the city, and following the crowds through some interesting festivals.
